Songkran is traditionally celebrated from April 13 to 15. The holiday begins with home cleaning and temple visits, where people pour fragrant water over Buddha statues and the hands of elders to show respect and seek blessings. The water symbolises purification—washing away the misfortunes of the past year to begin anew with clarity and grace.
During this time, many wear bright clothing and take part in cultural parades, traditional dances, and local food festivals. The mood is vibrant, familial, and joyous—bringing people together across generations in a shared celebration of Thai heritage.
